If you have landed on this page, you are probably in to either kayaking or fishing. Hopefully you are into both, as this site is my attempt to chronicle my journey from avid fisherman and once upon a time canoe hobbyist to becoming a full fledged kayak fisherman.

Let me tell you a little about me. I am a contractor by day, and I live in SW Florida, specifically the Ft Myers area. I am fortunate to live within a short drive of some of the best fishing in the world, especially if you like fishing the flats for species like Snook, Redfish, and Sea trout.

My other job, or my hobby as I refer to it, is as an internet marketer. What that means is I make small websites that sell things. I really enjoy it and look at it more as a hobby than a second job. The only issue is the sites I own are generally about things that I don’t have a ton of interest in, and I thought it would be cool to make a website about something I am really passionate about. This is to be that site. Years ago, I would go out to Sanibel Island here in SW Florida on a regular basis and canoe the backwaters all day. Of course, I would be fishing the whole time, and in a small boat with no motor you can really get into all the nooks and crannies that most people cannot. I once made it to within 10 yards of a Bald Eagle standing on an exposed oyster bar at low tide. I watched him eat a fish he had just caught, and I cannot ever remember being closer to nature.

Over the years work got in the way, and as I get older I am realizing that life is too short to not be doing the things we enjoy the most. One of the reasons I started internet marketing is because I want to be able to travel, fish, do all the things I want to do, and when your income comes from working online, you can work anywhere you want as long as you have an internet connection. If I can combine that with making a website about something I truly enjoy, I will have found the ideal situation for me.

My plans for this site will evolve over time, of that I have no doubt. But for now my plans are to simply journal everything I do that is related to kayak fishing in general, kayak fishing in Florida in particular, and share my experiences with all the kayak fishing gear that I use or come into contact with along the way.

I hope to be able to travel around the Florida and experience as much kayak fishing in as many different places as I can, and down the road I will expand that and try some offshore kayak fishing. I am adventurous by nature, and have sky dived and bungee jumped, so pushing this hobby to the extreme would be right up my alley.
